⚠️ Important Fitment Information
The horsepower and year ranges above are provided as a fitment guide only.
Johnson / Evinrude used different charging systems and rectifiers depending on:
- Exact engine model
- Model year
- Horsepower
- Charging-system specification
- Original OMC part number
- Wiring configuration
Do NOT assume that every Johnson / Evinrude engine within these horsepower or year ranges uses this rectifier.
The safest method is to match the original OMC part number and check the wiring and mounting arrangement.

⚠️ Important – 3-Wire Rectifier
This listing is specifically for the:
3-WIRE RECTIFIER
Please compare the wiring configuration with your original component.
Different OMC rectifiers can look very similar.
A similar appearance does not guarantee compatibility.
⚠️ Rectifier – Not a Modern Regulator / Rectifier
This component is primarily a RECTIFIER used with selected older Johnson / Evinrude charging systems.
Its purpose is to convert the stator's AC charging output into DC.
It should not be confused with later combined voltage regulator / rectifier units used on other Johnson / Evinrude engines.
Product Features
- Marine-grade aftermarket rectifier
- 3-wire configuration
- Suitable for selected Johnson / Evinrude 2-stroke outboards
- Selected applications from 50 HP to 235 HP
- Direct replacement for compatible original units
- Replacement for multiple OMC part numbers
- Improved replacement electrical components
- Designed for marine charging-system applications
- No assembly required
- New aftermarket replacement component
Before Installing Your New Rectifier
If your original rectifier has failed, we strongly recommend checking the charging system before fitting the replacement.
Check:
- AC output from the stator
- Battery condition
- Battery terminals
- Engine earth / ground connections
- Stator wiring
- Rectifier wiring
- Burnt or corroded connectors
- Melted or heat-damaged wiring
Replace or repair any damaged electrical connections before installing the new rectifier.
Suitable high-temperature dielectric grease can be used on applicable electrical connectors.
⚠️ Important – Check Before Ordering
Do NOT order this rectifier simply because:
- Your horsepower is listed
- Your model year is listed
- The rectifier looks similar
Before purchasing, please check:
- Exact Johnson / Evinrude engine model
- Horsepower
- Model year
- Engine model number
- Original OMC part number
- 3-wire configuration
- Electrical terminals
- Mounting dimensions
Ideally, match your original part number to one of the OMC numbers listed above.
If the rectifier looks the same as the one fitted to your engine, this does not always mean it is the correct part for your outboard.
If you are unsure, contact SSI Marine with your complete engine model number before ordering.
Aftermarket Replacement Part
This is a high-quality marine-grade aftermarket replacement part.
It is not a genuine OMC, Johnson or Evinrude component.
OEM manufacturer names and part numbers are provided for identification and compatibility reference only.
The component is designed as a replacement for compatible applications using the OMC references listed above.
Buyer Responsibility
It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm compatibility before purchasing.
Please check:
- Engine model
- Horsepower
- Model year
- Original OMC part number
- Wiring configuration
- Mounting arrangement
If you are unsure, contact SSI Marine before ordering. Our technical team will be happy to help identify the correct component.
