Important – Please Check Compatibility

This starter motor fits several different Yamaha engine families.

It is therefore particularly important not to order by horsepower or appearance alone.

Yamaha used different starter motors across the same horsepower ranges depending on engine model, generation and production code.

Before purchasing, please check:

Exact Yamaha engine model
2-stroke or 4-stroke
Engine year
Engine serial number / model code
Original starter motor part number
11-tooth starter drive
Mounting points and electrical connections

Your original starter should correspond with one of the Yamaha part number families listed above.

If the starter motor looks the same as yours, this does not always mean it is the correct one for your outboard.

If you are unsure, please send SSI Marine your engine model and serial number before ordering and our technical team will be happy to check compatibility.
