Important – Please Check Compatibility

This starter motor is used across a broad range of Yamaha 2-stroke engines.

It does NOT mean that every Yamaha 115–250 HP engine from 1990–2005 uses this starter.

Yamaha produced different engine families and starter motor configurations within the same horsepower ranges.

Before purchasing, please check:

Engine is Yamaha
Engine is 2 Stroke
Exact horsepower and model
4-cylinder or 6-cylinder application
Engine year
Engine serial number
Original starter motor part number
9-tooth starter drive
Mounting points and electrical connections

Your original starter should correspond with one of the Yamaha part numbers listed above.

If the starter motor looks the same as yours, this does not always mean it is the correct one for your outboard.

If you are unsure, please send SSI Marine your engine model and serial number before purchasing and our technical team will be happy to check compatibility.
