Important – Please Check Compatibility

Johnson and Evinrude produced many different engines within the 40 HP–60 HP range over the years.

Please do not order by horsepower or appearance alone.

Before purchasing, please check:

Johnson or Evinrude
Engine horsepower
Exact engine model
Engine year
Engine model / serial information
2-stroke application
Original starter motor part number
9-tooth starter drive
Mounting points
Electrical connections

Your engine should correspond with one of the listed OMC starter motor references.

If the starter motor looks the same as yours, this does not always mean it is the correct one for your outboard.

If you are unsure, please send SSI Marine your complete engine model details before ordering and our technical team will be happy to check compatibility.
