Important – Please Check Compatibility

Please do not order by horsepower or appearance alone.

Mercury and Mariner used different starter motors across engines with similar horsepower.

Before purchasing, please check:

Engine is Mercury or Mariner
Engine is 4 Stroke
Engine is the applicable 209cc version
Exact engine model
Engine serial number
Original starter motor part number
10-tooth starter drive
CCW rotation
Mounting points and electrical connections

Your engine should correspond with one of the listed Mercury / Mariner starter motor references.

If the starter motor looks the same as yours, this does not always mean it is the correct one for your outboard.

If you are unsure, please send SSI Marine your engine model and serial number before ordering and our technical team will be happy to check compatibility.
