Important – ENGINE OIL Drain Plug Gasket

This gasket is for the ENGINE OIL / SUMP drain plug.

It should not be confused with the gearbox / lower unit gear oil drain plug gasket.

When carrying out a complete outboard service, please remember that the engine oil sump plug and gearbox oil drain/fill plugs can require different sealing gaskets.

Recommended Replacement During Oil Service

We recommend inspecting the drain plug gasket whenever carrying out an engine oil change.

A drain plug gasket can become compressed or damaged after use. Replacing it during routine servicing helps maintain a reliable seal around the engine oil drain plug and reduces the risk of oil seepage.

Important – Please Check Compatibility

Please do not order by horsepower or appearance alone.

Mercury and Mariner have produced many different 4-stroke engine families, and different drain plug gaskets may be used depending on the exact engine.

Before purchasing, please check:

Engine is Mercury or Mariner
Engine is 4 Stroke
Exact engine model
Engine serial number
Existing sump plug gasket
Original Mercury / Quicksilver part number

For the safest identification, confirm that your engine requires:

26-8M0188221

If the gasket looks the same as yours, this does not always mean it is the correct one for your outboard.

If you are unsure, please send us your engine model and serial number before purchasing and our technical team will be happy to check compatibility.
